Product Development R&D Scientist
Seeking talent with product development experience in food consumer packaged goods. Product development experience in one or more of the following product categories is preferred: Dry mix baked goods, frosting, breads, cereals, dairy products, flavors, frozen breakfast pastries, pizza/pizza snacks, ready-to-eat sweet baked goods, refrigerated/frozen doughs, snack bars, soup/thermal processing.
The right candidate for these roles will be able to make internal and external connections to leverage pipelines, portfolios, and technologies for innovation. The right candidates will also be successful at developing great partnerships with cross functional partners, have superior project management skills, and have strong formulation and process development skills. The projects managed in these roles will provide the opportunity to lead complex projects, advance science, and build new capabilities, processes, and business partnerships.
Job Responsibilities:
As an experienced Research and Development Scientist, you will be responsible for new product and/or cost reduction strategy, concept development, product formulation, and process development. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to impact the function by leveraging your knowledge, skills and expertise to create new possibilities in the platform by leading process development and innovation and advancing technical possibilities. Responsibilities may include any of the following, depending on the scope of the assigned project:

• Take products from bench top to full production while collaborating fully in a cross functional environment.
  
• Develop new products, make product improvements, and contribute to concept refinement and product start-ups.
  
• Drive projects through appropriate consumer, descriptive, and discrimination testing to enhance product knowledge from its initial concept state to its appearance on grocers' shelves.
  
• Partner with global teams to identify new opportunities and solve technical challenges.
  
• Build technical expertise in new areas and share knowledge across the organization.
  
• Identify cost savings opportunities by challenging formulation and processing assumptions.
  
• Execute commercialization of projects efficiently and with excellence.
  
  Education and Experience Levels:
  

• 
  
• 3+ years of experience in product development.
  
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science or related field.

  • Proven ability to deliver executional excellence, facilitate cultural learning, and develop technical and scientific rigor.
