Job Description:

We seek a Senior PHP/LAMP Software Engineer to join a dedicated team of 3-4 engineers to modernize legacy systems built on Classic ASP and VB.Net. This role involves maintaining and supporting the current software while completely rewriting a new system to mirror the old requirements and functionality. Eventually, the new system will be rolled out to replace the legacy product, which will be sunset. The successful candidate must be comfortable reading and writing Classic ASP & VB.Net for bug fixing and reverse engineering, aiming to incorporate this system companywide. This multi-year project will present many ups and downs, with various complications and unexpected issues. It's a unique opportunity for someone genuinely excited about this work. Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Senior level strengths within PHP/LAMP stack, yet comfortable working across and learning different languages and technologies (PHP/MySQL/Linux/Apache with Bootstrap for the UI - Symfony is used but also considering Laravel)
• Must be okay reading and writing Classic ASP & VB.Net for bug fixes and reverse engineering
• Is resourceful and self-driven
• Thrives in ambiguous environments (senior and resourceful enough to figure things out independently)
• Has worked on legacy to newer tech/code modernization - understands this is a massive undertaking that can take a few years; requires bigger picture understanding and patience (will work on a team of 3-4 handling this conversion)About Versique:At Versique, we believe people are more than a resume.
