Job Description:

• This position includes both conservative and surgical management of complex acute and chronic conditions of the foot, ankle, and related structures of the leg.
• Works collaboratively as a team member with both the inpatient and outpatient podiatrists and their teams as well as with the other specialties involved with the patient's care.
• Will provide outpatient clinical services for hospital discharged patients on a rotating basis.
• Strong surgical background and experience in diabetic limb salvage with wound care experience. Fellowship preferred, but not required.
• There will be rotational weekday evening and weekend call.

  • Schedule: 8 hr day shifts
  • You will rotate weekend and evening call with the other podiatrists covering both Abbott and United Hospitals when on call (typically once every 8 weeks).Requirements:
    • Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine required and
    • Completion of a 24 month residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in a program approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) required
    • At least 1 year of demonstrated experience in designated specialty area required
    • Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire and
    • ACLS-BLS Tier 3 - Multisource required within 180 Days and
    • PALS - Pediatric Advance Life Support - Multisource required depending on business unit upon hire and
    • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation - Multisource required depending on business unit upon hire
    • Licensed Physician - WI upon hire required and
    • Board Certification or Board Eligible by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ABFAS) upon hire required and
    • Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate upon hire required and
    • Prescription Monitoring Program upon hire required and
    • National Provider Identifier upon hire requiredCompensation & Benefits:
      • 5 weeks of time away year one; 6 weeks of time away year two and beyond
