Overview
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Yamamoto, you will be
responsible for overseeing the financial health of the
organization, providing strategic financial guidance, and ensuring
effective financial management. This role requires a seasoned
financial executive with a strong background in finance,
accounting, and business operations, as well as a thorough
understanding of the advertising industry.
This role can be either in our Minneapolis, Chicago or New York
offices.
Responsibilities
The Chief Financial Officer provides company financial leadership
in three key areas:
- Agency Leadership - Act as a positive, engaged agency leader
among internal and external stakeholders including the agency
management team, the holding company, Stagwell, client accounting
contacts and vendor partners.
- Financial Leadership - Develop strategies, manage and report on
the company finances including growth targets, EBITDA, client and
staff profitability/utilization, client pricing and overall company
expense controls all in compliance with current GAAP, SEC and IRS
requirements.
- Department Leadership - Lead, manage and mentor the financial,
administrative, operations functions in the agency in support of
grow goals set forth by the CEO. Agency Leadership
- Provide financial strategies and management that supports the
growth and reshaping of business across product and service
offerings to meet strategies set forth by the CEO.
- Drive a culture of excellent commercial judgment in business
decision making, advising on key business decisions through sound
commercial judgment, highlighting options, trade-offs, risks and
opportunities.
- Lead initiatives to grow the business through revenue
enhancement and margin protection in client engagements and
expenditures.
- Lead the short and long-term budgetary planning and cost
management for the agency(ies) in your purview.
- Contribute to the annual and long-term agency plans through
development of robust financial insight and actionable data,
informed by a deep understanding of financial and business
priorities. Financial Leadership:
- Lead all fiscal activities at the agency including establishing
and fully managing all aspects of agency finance including pricing,
staffing models, utilization rates, client contracts, capital
expenditures, legal issues and cost and risk management.
- Develop key performance indicators; monitoring and reporting of
KPIs to support the company's strategic business plan including
executive dashboards for weekly leadership meetings and all
corporately required dashboard and reporting documentation.
- Review financial monthly dashboards, quarterly analytics
packages for Stagwell
- Participate on the Doner Partners Network Finance Leadership
team.
- Supervise and direct financial management, treasury, budgeting,
audits, and taxes.
- Partner with accounting shared service as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Stagwell's partner level SOX
controls.
- Participate in acquisition and growth activities to support
business objectives and plans.
- Oversee client contract administration and direct best
practices in the client billing area.
- Administer the monthly closing process, direct monthly
forecasting and cash flow reporting. Department Leadership:
The Chief Financial Officer will manage the financial,
administrative and operations areas in the agency. Key
responsibilities include:
- Training and Growth - Provide structured and unstructured
feedback, training opportunities and performance plans for staff to
achieve their growth goals for professional and personal
development.
- Utilization of Agency Resources - Effectively and profitably
manage the agency's resources and relationships across all
departments in the agency.
- Administration - Create, refine, adhere to and support
agency/departmental policies and systems and provide exemplary
leadership. Agency Corporate Responsibilities
The Chief Financial Officer has a responsibility to the corporation
as a whole.
- Agency Representative in the Community - Represent Yamamoto
positively in the business and advertising communities
- Agency Growth - Assist in pursuing new opportunities with
assigned clients and new business initiatives

Qualifications
Education:
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
is required.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or MBA are often
preferred. Skills and Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a
senior financial leadership role, preferably within an advertising
or marketing agency.
- Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership
role.
- Must be a strategic thinker with demonstrated success in the
achievement of organizational financial goals.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, with a keen
understanding of financial modeling and forecasting.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and
industry-specific financial practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional
teams.

you would like.
