Andersen. SUMMARY: This position is responsible for managing the
Manufacturing Engineering function for our Bayport Doors
Manufacturing plant, supporting our Door Plant Manager along with
the Doors Business Team. The assigned plant is large and complex
with multiple value streams to support. The primary goal for this
leader is to ensure that we continue to build and lead a team that
can help execute the strategic initiatives for the Andersen
Division, support the operational excellence initiatives for the
plant, drive multi-year capital and capacity planning; site
planning; talent planning; and support plant continuous efforts to
achieve operational metrics. This position also ensures that the
assigned team operates in accordance with Andersen Corporation's
values, employee covenant, and strategic direction. PRIMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage the Bayport Door Plant Manufacturing
Engineering team in support of our Fabrication and Assembly Value
Streams.
- Partner with Operations leaders to support Operational
Excellence in SQDC and align resources to the strategic goals and
objectives of the operations team.
- Define and communicate performance targets established through
strategy deployment for safety, quality, customer service, costs,
and associate satisfaction/development within the team. Hold teams
accountable to those targets.
- Work with business partners to determine appropriate
performance targets and projects to focus on, using available data
from operational performance, internal/external fall down figures,
etc. as a directional tool.
- Establish an environment conducive to high levels of morale,
associate satisfaction, and performance as measured through our VOE
process.
- Deliver performance to budget. Use a participative approach in
the budgeting process.
- Acquire the appropriate people, technology, equipment, and
financial resources necessary to meet customer expectations and
implement the business improvement plans.
- Provide coaching, information, ideas, feedback, and
encouragement to leaders to promote the growth and development of
the engineering team. Support and encourage continuous learning
within the Manufacturing Engineering team.
- Be highly visible to associates and create a safe environment
for participation. Promote going to Gemba to solve problems and
promote hands-on, high involvement approaches to problem solving.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-year degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials Science,
MIS, or related field.
- 7-10 years related management experience.
- Experience with budgeting, leading cost savings initiatives and
driving value into a manufacturing operation.
- Senior leadership level presentation skills. NICE-TO-HAVE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MBA/MS preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, capital equipment
procurement, supply chain material and information flow, line
balancing and quality programs and initiatives. CULTURE AND

Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible
employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out
